Marlene Rose was born in New York and educated at Pomfret School and Tulane University in New Orleans. She went on to graduate school at California College of the Arts in Oakland and Pilchuck Glass School in Seattle, the epicenter of the Art Glass Movement.

The dialogue between clear goals and solid metal, between spectacular and serene result, make Marlene’s works eloquent, elegant, and vivacious. The work has a quality of timelessness, reflecting both ancient and modern styles. They celebrate the unique properties of glass—transparency, shine, and reflection. Cast objects hold the memory of the shapes and textures of the materials that created them. They are fine-grained, rugged or smooth, transparent or translucent, colored or clear.

Marlene’s work is represented in galleries and museums worldwide. Within the U.S., her work is shown in various cities including Miami, Atlanta, Sedona, Dallas, Palm Desert, Philadelphia, New Orleans, and Toronto. She features regularly at SOFA Chicago, SOFA New York, SOFA Palm Beach, Art Miami, Art Chicago, Art Toronto, Art DC, and other top expositions. She is collected by A-list celebrities and numerous prominent private art and glass collectors.
